Dr Aida Bayou leads m4h’s Health Systems work, with a particular focus on South Asia and Africa. She has over 15 years of experience in strategic planning, managing for results, partnership building, and institutional capacity strengthening in health programs. Building on her earlier career as a clinician and public health practitioner she has contributed to the design and implementation of some 20 health projects.
She has specific professional expertise in the area of Maternal Health and Child Survival Programmes and HIV, having worked for instance as MCH technical advisor long term in Ethiopia and worked as intermittent expert on Maternal, Child survival and Reproductive health programs in several countries (Nepal, Kenya, Cambodia, Yemen, Nigeria) and on demand side financing projects in Kenya and Cambodia. She has successfully carried out several short-term assignments for the World Bank, Kfw, EU, GIZ, and Global Fund.
Her particular areas of expertise include Health Systems Strengthening, Results Based Financing and improving the performance of health care delivery through the development and delivery of training programmes on Essential Service Packages for medical personnel, design of M&E systems, and Performance & Data Quality Audits. Aida joined m4h in July 2014 as Senior Consultant and Partner.
